Clare was in complete agreement, on most of Billy's comments about the situation. Save ones about personal experience, which he (like most others) had a sizable lead over her. However a few more months she might catch up on this.
"Well, if they showed up, it was probably here," Clare gestured to the Sky Gate. "However we should probably head toward a hotel before it gets too dark out. There's a certain... monster problem, in town. It gets worse after dark." Clare was starting to get a little fidgety. He certainly had the superhero look, but she didn't want to put it all on him. Especially after last time she needed protection from a superhero. That went well.
"We can ask around on the... well, they aren't exactly phones. But they are remarkable facsimiles, if anyone has found your friends, we can sort it out."

Much to her surprise, she actually recognized this one. Whoa! It was that New Avengers kid. Wizard... or Witch Boy... no, Wiccan! That was it.
She came up to the two of them, waving to Clare. "This one's from my neck of the woods," she told the girl. She didn't expect Billy to recognize her out of uniform, so she offered her hand. "Hey. Shadowcat. From the X-Men," she pointed her thumb at herself. "I guess Clare's already given you the Welcome to The Weird speech?"

"Anyways, lead the way and if they're here I'll find them." She looked a bit nervous or worried, he was going to trust her get out of dodge instincts. She was a veteran as far as the situation here went. "They look sorta like those iphones. Any idea what they're running on?" Maybe he could track their service provider down.
He started to ask another question when another woman that seemed way too familiar joined them. He knew that face but from- WAIT. The Shadow cat? Oh crap. It was really awesome to see her and he grinned as he accepted her hand. He really hoped she wasn't here to lock him up for the greater good. "Yeah, she gave me the Welcome to Creepyville speech. Uh, I'm Wiccan from the Young Avengers."

"Vampires in a few different styles, mostly we have creatures a vague mythological and mystical nature... The general rules about their existence suggest staying indoors during the night, and safety when traveling during daylight," Clare was trying to keep the information useful, but honest and without exaggeration. Her understanding of the Fae and of the two vampire courts came from others in town, she knew of written mythologies but they clashed with what she'd been told. Meaning in a scenario without other options she would follow the written myths, but she'd rather have more certainty on this.
When he asked about the phones, this was a bit nicer, and she relaxed. This was about the only thing in this city she was near an expert on. Letting her jump past what he was thinking, "They aren't cell phones. None of the cell towers are working, whatever is networking them together it isn't anything anyone is used to. The general consensus is 'magic' but only until we figure out how they really work." Clare didn't believe they were magic. Not in the shape and style to best follow the mold of technology. They were either a hybrid of the two or they were far too advanced for anyone to know. That Doctor person seemed a bit more technically savvy then she was.
There was something kinda cool about the codename basis. "I've done my best to cover the network and how it isn't cellphones, the standard mythological thematic nature to the monsters, and that we can't go home." Wow that last item didn't come off as bitter at all, the rest was the same voice you would expect of a model student to any teacher. She did relax when Miss Pryde joined them, something about the superpowers and the valuable martial arts skill that did it. Not to be an affront to Wiccan, but she didn't know the level of his combat skill nor his powerset. She could generally assume it was more valuable than her, but that was a given.
