Dawn. It was as good a time as any to get this over with. Jason's eyes were a stormy blue as he stared up at the dragon. Slowly, very slowly, he could fill the power of Jupiter coursing through him. It probably wasn't going to be enough to slay a freaking dragon but it was going to have to do until he COULD summon his full power. In one hand, he clenched the sword he had found on his own. It was not magical or fortified in anyway, but he had made sure that the metal was able to conduct electricity. The other weapon, an ax, rested in his other hand. This one, however, was a token from battle. An ax that could cut through magic spells and enchantments. He hoped it would come in handy ( ... )

Stella flew through the air in her Enchantix self towards the dragon. No good could come fromething like this, especially is there were people who were untrained in dealing with something like a this. At first, Stella was worried that there was no one else to help her take care of this thing when she then saw someone attack the dragon and lightning came crashing down.

For all that the city of Chicago was a strange and unusual place that Iskierka found troublesome to adapt to, this much was familiar. She had no idea what sort this dragon was, or where it was from, but it didn't matter. It was like no English dragon she had heard of and that was more than enough for her. Besides, she knew aerial battles, and how and where to strike on a dragon to best eliminate its ability to fly.

Of course, she didn't have a crew this time, but as the other dragon didn't even have a harness she doubted it had one either, and she wasted no time into closing into proper distance before a great gout of flame short forth from her mouth, catching the other dragon in its side.

The combination of fire and lightning was not something the dragon expected. It bellowed, clenching tightly to the building and causing more glass and steel to rain down onto the streets. Jason had to push back from the building in order to avoid being brought down by tons of steel. The cry from the dragon was like anything he had ever heard.

Suddenly the dragon struck out, large teeth flashing as it tried to grab Iskierka in its jaws. Jason stared up and realized he wasn't sure he was meant for this sort of match. It was a little too late to back out now. He pushed himself further up on the air pockets until he reached one of the first roofs. It was the lowest one and put him close to the body of the dragon without being near the jaws. It still towered above him. Jason gripped the ax tightly and drove it home into the dragon's scales.

The size of the dragon and the malfunctioning technology (and the similarities to fighting off something a la King Kong) had rendered the skies around the Willis Tower completely empty, just as inside the building itself. So it was with some surprise to see a bright yellow plane - unused for decades - sped from the south, its propellers whirling loudly in the stillness of the day.

Amber sat in the pilot's seat, goggles pulled over her eyes as she expertly swung the plane towards the Willis Tower. It was again moments like this where she really missed the bomber that had been able to take out another dragon in memory, and without the weapons equipped on that, her passenger would have to make do with her own MP5K.

"Going in," she called over her shoulder and the gusts of wind, and hoped that the magic powering the plane wouldn't fall apart before the battle was through.

This was all too much. The terrifying monsters had been one thing, all blood and rot and just awful, nasty creatures, but Fluttershy had found a way to summon up her inner strength and set things straight--as straight as they could be, really, which seemed really very crooked in the end. But after all that--dragons! Not one, but two, huge, terrifying, angry dragons, with teeth and claws and roars so loud it made her ears hurt.

While others were being so brave, fighting up above, Fluttershy watched with wide, terrified eyes below. There was so much trouble, for such good people here, and now there were dragons come in to make it all seem so hopeless. The pegasus trembled on the ground. All she could do for now was wish them luck--and simply pray that no one got eaten.

Stella gave a smile as she saw Amber in the plane that she and Blondie helped nab from the museum. It was also good to see the thing was able to work, but she was also wanted to keep an eye on it. She hurried her flying pace to catch up with the other person and a second dragon out of all things, charging some magic for a spell. Faintly remembering something that resembled a small scared Pegasus in the streets, reminding herself to check on it later on.

"Enchantix Sunburst!" Stella yelled, a ball of orange sun based energy forming in her hand. She then hurled the ball of light at the darker dragon that was first on the building.

"Roger that," Blondie replied over the wind, already half-balanced outside of the passenger seat, her dark hair whipping wildly around her face. It would have taken a person with less skill than her to go tumbling to the ground as vertigo swept over her, but Blondie only grinned at the rush and shifted her submachine gun in her right hand. Turning her back on Amber so that she faced the tail of the biplane, she ignored the stomach-dropping lurch as her friend shifted the plane into a dive.

"Time to eat lead!" she hollered with glee as they swept past the dragon and with the precision and skill of someone twice her age, she released a rain of bullets on the Chinese celestial guardian, laughing in wicked triumph as the dragon roared in rage.

Due to her complete inability to fly, Rarity was on the ground next to Fluttershy, staring up at the dragon on top of the building. There were dragons, and then there were dragons, and she was fairly certain this was one of the latter. "Now, remember, Fluttershy," she started, trying to hide her nervousness and only marginally succeeding. "It's just like any other dragon," she hoped, "and dragons do listen you when you talk to them. If you do decide to talk this one down, you know that I am behind you one hundred percent - except that I'll still be on the ground, of course, seeing as I don't have wings - and I will be right here if you need me." If she couldn't well go up there with Fluttershy, at least she could offer moral support.

When the airplane appeared Jason wasn't sure what to think. It would certainly be more effective than his hacking away at the dragon's feet. Of course, if he could just get more of his strength back maybe his lightning would be a little more effective. He'd have to be careful with the winds now though...he wouldn't want to knock this plane of course.

Back to the task at hand, Jason could feel his powers steadily growing stronger. He felt faster and lighter in the air already. Jason set his sights on a spot a little higher up and bounded upwards in the air towards it. As he started to fall his pushed himself towards the dragon's body, plunging the sword into the scales and trying to find a weakness. When he made contact he discharged the electricity built up in his body, numbing the small area around the dragon. Huh, now there was an idea. If he could continue to make the dragon numb then the dragon would have a harder time retaliating against the plane.

The controls were shaky in Amber's hands as she pulled the nose up the plane just as the dragon - well, one of them anyway - spun its massive head towards her, the movement nearly knocking her out of the sky. She quickly glanced behind her to make sure she still had her passenger, and let out a sigh of relief as she steadied the plane.

"What do you think is wrong with him? I thought he was supposed to be on our side?!"

The dragon may have been outnumbered, but it was still putting up one hell of a fight. This was going to be difficult - they couldn't exactly knock it out of the sky considering how high up they were. But really, why was it acting like this? Maybe it was another spell?

Iskierka didn't quite know what to make of the airplane, since she couldn't really understand why people would bother making a machine to fly in when they had perfectly good dragons. Still, she recognized the weapons the two were using and she had no real inclination to get herself shot. Not because she was afraid of the pain, though. It was simply that she had no idea if anyone here even knew what to do with dragon's injuries and she wasn't about suffer any longer than she absolutely had to.

So instead of remaining near where the airplane was, she dropped down nearer to the ground. It wasn't like she had to stay near her target by any stretch of the imagination, and this time, her gout of flame struck the guardian's tail. Perhaps matters would go better if they could get it to move.

Jason hesitated when he heard the voice of the phoenix, well, heard probably wasn't the right term. Still, he couldn't help but look off at the fiery bird as it flew down to the ponies below. Gods, he hadn't even REALIZED the ponies were down there. He was surprised since, while he appreciated the support, this battle field wasn't really the place for them.

Still, the phoenix was encouraging them to keep up the attack. Well, Jason wasn't about to argue there. He grabbed his sword and ax and started flying further up the dragon. The winds becoming much easier to control and direct without much thought. If he could maybe get to the dragon's head he could cause more damage. Even as he flew up, however, he threw lightning bolt after lightning bolt at the dragon. He felt as though if they could just get a few more powerful strikes in they could win. This could be over.

A phoenix? Fantastic, Amber thought as she swung the airplane just beneath the infuriated dragon's reach. With its arrival, for once she felt the warmth of victory spread through her, and she grinned back at Blondie. "I think we can do this! Hang on!"

The bright, warm glow of the phoenix might have been surprising in the midst of the raging battle, but it brought with it a wonderful feeling of reassurance. Fluttershy hadn't seen such a magnificent bird since when she was last home, and the heat it carried with it brought back a wonderful nostalgia and assurance.

The Pegasus watched the gleaming bird with wide eyes, listening to its not-quite-words with an uncertainty. A spell? But then... "Oh dear. That's not right at all..." Her face screwed up. The poor thing... and everyone bullying it, without any other choice, oh, how awful. Biting her lip, Fluttershy gave Rarity along look, gulped, and managed to get herself into the air, shaking. "I h-hope this works...The battle in the air was far more than anything she could really keep up with, fire and lightning and machinery crackling around her. The dragon--the one everyone was fighting, that was, let loose an earsplitting roar, and she cringed ( ... )
