What's that smell?
Something crawled under our house and died. The bad part is that in our basement right where the utility room and garage come together there are gaps to the outside. And that's right where the corpse must be. I've sealed the gaps up with insulation, but that doesn't hide the smell. This happened once before and after a while we got these big carrion flies in the house. We've tried a bunch of products to absorb and mask the smell, but on mild days like today, they're no match for the stench. It smells like dirty socks and rotten meat. I'm going to try to crawl under the house and see if I can't pull whatever is down there out, and then try to seal it up so this doesn't happen again. I'm not looking forward to that nasty job. I don't enjoy touching dead things unless I buy it in the store.
