It's been a while since I've last entered anything into this journal. I've been out of my office for 3 weeks. I was in training for the first week and on vacation the last two. I've finally gotten all the work stuff out of my system. Now, I'm truly detoxing. I'm in Atlanta hanging out with my brother, Joe and my good friends Damon and Ron Meharg. This week we've been doing all those things that I rarely do these days. We've gone to several movies and a hockey game. Tonight we'll be going to a night club to watch a couple of rock bands. Sunday we'll be going to the Atlanta Falcons game at the Georgia Dome. I guess you can say that I'm cramming a whole lot of "Boys Out" activities into one fun week. When we're not going places, I'm reading my book, watching DVDs and surfing the net. Now that's a vacation.
The week before was spent with the rest of my family. My brother was up in Northern Virginia for a few days so we did stuff up there. Bree and Steve hung out at the house, Marie was off for a few days, and I caught up with last minute Christmas shopping. One night we had a nice dinner with candles and fine china and invited everyone mentioned above. Marie cooked a great Chicken Picatta and we all sampled after dinner drinks. Then we went down to Richmond to spend time with our parents. My sister Liz, her husband Evan and their newborn boy Derek were there also. We were all crammed into my parent's little apartment, which did make tensions rise on a few occasions. But we survived intact.
We celebrated Christmas on Dec 24th since Liz and family had to go back to Denver on Christmas day. Then we celebrated Christmas again on Dec 25th with Marie's family. I kind of liked spreading it out like that. We ate too much, spent too much money, laughed a lot and shared lots of family love - typical Christmas.
