Track maintenance

I was walking on Mass Ave, on the bridge over the Pike when I saw a parade of track maintenance vehicles on the railroad, going east. They were spaced out enough that each could be in line of sight of the one before it and behind it.

The first one hauled a tank of some flammable liquid, butane or propane or something. The first one I saw, at least; I don't know how long the line was before I looked.
The second carried some equipment I could not identify and a whole pile of railway spikes.
The third hauled a large truck, slightly smaller than an eighteen-wheeler, on a flatbed. The truck said that it contained welding equipment.
The fourth had a large crane.
The fifth carried a lot of equipment I could not identify, and what looked like pieces of rail.
About this time, a long commuter rail train rushed out from under me, heading west.
The sixth had a large crane, and a pile of miscellaneous junk picked up from along the tracks.
The seventh had two parts, one with equipment and one with about a half a dozen workers. Both had a white roof.
The eighth had another white-roofed vehicle with a few workers. I waved, one waved back.

There is no point to this. I just see things sometimes.
