Sometime this year, likely late Spring/early Summer, I will be moving to North Carolina - the Raleigh/Durham area, working in RTP. I'll be down there for maybe 6 months before wren13 and the herd come down - which will greatly complicate things.
This will be pretty complex, and while I am looking forward to living in NC, I am really not looking forward to the actual transition.
Somme notes of things from this year that I will miss:
- Our favorite New Year's Eve party
- Seeing the friends I've built up in the 18 years I've lived in NE
- winter birds from the north - Common Redpolls and Pine Grosbeaks are this year's best examples
- Chasing rarities from the UK or Alaska (Black-headed Gull and Barrow's Goldeneye are successes so far this year, and I didn't find the Mew Gull down in Swampscott)
- The birding community in NH as well as Plum Island/Parker River NWR
- Schezuan Garden II in Woburn
- Going to the movies with ahf
- New England Christmas light displays
- Being able to drive to Albany in approx. 3 hours
- Our relatively new bath tub
