At 11:53 PM, I heard a really LOUD sound coming from outside, I can only barely describe how it sounded, but it started quietly and became loud enough to freak me out before fading quickly. Imagine watching the movie Twister during the F5 scene and holding the volume up button down until it maxes out. The only things I can think of is a wind micro-

That's interesting. I thought I though I heard something around that time as well, but didn't turn down my music to find out what it was. I'm right on the Lynnwood/Mill Creek border (very near the freeway, which is why I don't jump to investigate strange sounds).

Now I'm curious.

I had a large tree fall in my back yard this past winter, large enough that I saw it falling towards my house from my 2nd story bedroom window. The sound of splitting wood from it wasn't as loud as this was.

The part that freaked me out was that I couldn't identify it. I think it gave my Bose speaker setup a run for it's money.
