Places to sell jewelry?

First time poster here.  I have some nice jewelry that was given to me to sell.  A necklace and a matched set of necklace and earrings.  Total value is 3-4 thousand dollars.  I have no idea where to go to try to sell these, besides not wanting to go to a pawnshop.  The value is in the gems more than the metal, so one of those "sell your gold" places won't work either.

Does anyone know of any stores where they felt they got a good deal?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
