Well they could have more k-12 and save money on the counseling for transitional middle schoolers which are passed levies waiting to be implemented. More K-12 could save parents and city much money for less transportation. And parents can invest more individual time and money into just one school/community. They could maybe not "build" the community violence protection program that has been allocated money to be implemented in certain neighborhoods and instead have them on school grounds, maybe even paying to lease the space, plus closer to those that needs the services. Instead of paying for extra services for teen moms and or homeless children, foster care and free food, day care, preschool, head start, etc. all these services should be a part of the school system on school grounds. Let's change the ESL programs and open the school doors to mothers and fathers who want to learn along with their children. "Education for ALL." Ask Summit how they have done it without help so far and they will say we "had to do it" ourselves with our own money anyway, which is exactly why they should be a model for the other schools that have the money but keep asking for more.Actually for roughly two decades the principal @ Summit was Cathy Hayes, who fought for Summit in the community & the district and kept it going, along with parents/teachers/students

which is as much as I said to summit inthe parent group meeting... but I said I would spread what they wanted said. I certainly agree that there are many other sucessfull art programs out there. I myself am really too new to know with a first grader and am open to ideas that work. I am not too worried about the alternative part of my childs education for that is what I am for:) <3
