Spike, man, you have such issues. :/ Not that I don't like to see you crashing to your knees now and then...
"he’d woken up to her throwing herself into his arms and sobbing hysterically about missing him" she's SO CUTE
"Actually, it was right around twenty months, but who was counting." he's SO CUTE!
"She snorted, then grinned. “Fine. I won’t expect you to be a saint.”
He ran his fingers over the back of her hand that was resting on the table. He felt more blessed than any saint just being in the same room as her."
they are SO CUTE!!
"He wanted to kick something, or yell, or punch a wall. He was bloody frustrated. How was he supposed to get anything? (..) ..something was different about this and he couldn’t suss out what. So he let out a breath and forced himself to calm down. “Then tell me, Buffy. Please.”"
Great job, Spike! :)
“You could touch things, ( ... )

Poor Spike is so insecure, so certain that she will kick him to the curb. Until they really deal with their history he will never be fully confident again. The soul always telling him how vile and evil he was adds to the mix.
Buffy was hurt...makes sense. He didn't call her.
I love that they did talk about what happened with Harmony, that Buffy knows he has issues too.
Nice recap of her affair with Satsu. Makes it much better than how the comics seemed to play it.
These two rarely talk but need to so badly. They both get into the habit of getting into their own head space and that usually leads to bad things.
Wonder if Buffy will look up Hank while they are in Spain?
Look forward to more.
Love it.

He's waiting for the other shoe to drop...but thank god he's not Angel and won't jump in to sabotage his happiness.
I think Buffy knows she can't *really* be mad about the Harm thing, it's not like Buffy and Spike were in some committed relationship, but she's sure having a hard time separating out her anger at Spike for not clueing her in and her jealousy towards Harmony.
Hopefully, I can continue to show a much healthier relationship between her and Satsu than what the comics did, along with a better friendship with Willow. (Willow trying to pump Satsu for info and then telling Buffy that Buffy "isn't on Willow's list" just makes me sick. Uh, Lesbians are dudes with boobs. It's a profound misunderstanding of how female relationships of all kinds work).
They very much need to learn how to communicate...maybe a change of scenery and some time together will help them out?
thank you so much for the read and review!

Buffy is talking! Dealing, even! Good Buffy, have a cookie. Or maybe a cinnamon roll? BTW, I am v. v. amused that while Spike notes that Buffy loves Cinnabon, he doesn't suspect that it might be because of Satsu.
Wonderful start, m'dear! I am eager to get to sunny Spain with you!

Ha! He is totally clueless...though the next time they stop at Cinnabon the thought might run through his head ;-)
Spain in January is still chilly, though not compared to Cleveland. Buffy's going to need some super cute jackets. And I really need to get her to Tahiti sooner or later...

There's no place in my scattered brain for WIPs. There is however place for this wonderful start of a story about how they deal with everyday life!
I loved every word of this, I suffered Spike's anxiety, and felt insecure with Buffy.
A beautiful way to start a day!

Poor Spike, he's been living a dream and he thinks that he's about to wake up and he doesn't know whether to constantly panic or constantly panic and cling on as tightly as possible to Buffy.
And Buffy having that horrible realization that issues don't magically disappear when you ignore them and that she might actually have to do more than that to make her relationship with Spike work (and yay! She is trying!)
I'm very glad you enjoyed and thank you for the wonderful review!
