Although I have not taken part in such a study, I have apparently been in enough doctor's offices and had enough same-day procedures that none of this is made up of whole cloth. Including the socks.

How do they distinguish between things that are naturally appealing to her and things that are only appealing due to context

I'm not sure we can ever completely correct for this. Context is everything, and it's so individual. But, you know, right now they're trying to establish a baseline. Heh.

I know for sure that they do tea in some parts of Canada. I'm not positive it's a big thing in Toronto, not having been there, but I found several lists of good places for tea, so why not? Many of the Canadians I know have "cocktail hour" instead.

Poor little author *hugs*

I didn't doubt your research, I was just surprised.

Ah. That makes sense.

I strongly believe that tea time should be a thing everywhere. :D

Great job.

Hey, it's all grist for the mill, and I'm a lucky, healthy gal.

My first time having tea was in Victoria B.C., when I was 9. It was sooooo fancy! Crumpets! Nom nom nom.

I'm delighted that your strong feelings about sex research are coming through in this. Tho some of the sensors are giving me pause, particularly the anal one because I can't imagine that it'd be good for something to go wandering about in my intestines backwards. Digestive tract tends to be pretty much a one way street, and stuff going the wrong way tends to involve BAD.

The bit with the cigarette and substituting Spike in for the more boring guys in the images was also lots of fun.

Dignity, always dignity. I actually jumped the gun a little on the anal probe. It's used to measure contractions during orgasm, and I don't think Buffy is necessarily going to get there on the first day. Tsk. But it is a necessary tool of the trade. And it doesn't wander...more of a very small butt plug kind of deal, certainly no thicker than anything else that might pass through that region. Ahem.

Moving on! Thanks for the call outs on the things that stood out for you. *\o/*

Ok, I was envisioning something more like an EKG probe, so you can imagine my alarm. Possibly due to the rest of the context? And while they don't expect Buffy to for sure have orgasms during their intentionally rather boring little pictures, I'm sure the sensor data is worth getting. You can sometimes get really surprising data or tease tiny details out if you are careful with your data collection. And it's always easier to do good science if you keep detailed notes.

Yes! Data! Science! Not overkill...

Still great fun, and very science-y and weird.

The revelation of the supernatural among us has meant a lot of retooling.”

This made me laugh. I bet it did. And did Anita keep a straight face when she used that word?

I am really trying to tell this straight, but every damn thing is a double entendre! Everything! Did I know this going in? You bet I did.

Thanks for commenting!

I love it! It's so educational :D and fun, though not so much for Buffy. I hope Spike will cheer her up.
I see that chapters 1 (2) turned into 2 (4). Great!
Are the fluffy socks a thing that they do?

Yes, fluffy socks are a medical facility thing! They don't want anybody getting chilled. That's the kind of thing that has turned this from 2 chapters to 4. Apparently, I know a lot more about this stuff than I first thought.

Spike will absolutely cheer her up! Or rile her up. Either way will be good for her state of mind. Although I think she's secretly having a certain amount of fun, already.

I think that for all Buffy's complaints, she's actually kind of curious about this subject. As are we all, amirite? That will battle with her dislike of anything that smacks of hospital, of course. But unless the researchers are evil demons - which is always possible - she probably won't kick too much.

I'm glad you're enjoying!
