It's about four feet tall. White lights. Various garlands: small felted balls, wooden cranberries, silver beaded. An assortment of handmade and vintage ornaments from blown glass/mercury glass (my father gave me a set of small vintage "feather tree" ornaments about 30 years ago) to gingerbread people and scandinavian pixies, to beeswax ornaments, papier mache stars and felted acorns........teeny hand knit socks and wee felted whales. Vintage crocheted snowflakes, glass snowflakes. Vintage tin "tinsel" and glass icicles. Jingle bells, glittery pine cones, clear orbs filled with milkweed floss and seeds. Then there are small candycanes, wee silver leaves and branches and handmade bows in a few places. I have a handsewn bird that I made a nest for out of tinsel, and the bird rests within it inside the tree every year. A small glass creche sits underneath the tree.
(Everything in the collage is either exactly what I have or a very close approximation. There are other ornaments, but I couldn't find them on the interweb, or I just got tired and wanted to finish up and post.)
I enjoy decorating a Christmas tree. How about you? Do you enjoy it too? What's on yours? How long will you keep it up? I take mine down anytime between New Year's Day and Valentine's Day.
