Okay, this has been really niggling me lately, so I am just going to type it out and then let it wither and waste here where I don't have to look at it ever again.
In my head, it is called the Fandom Slams Charity Meme.
So, April, National Poetry Month. You know who reads a lot of great poetry? Fandom! So the content of the post is like, a gif of an open guitar case and links to literacy/arts charities and the comments would be encouraged to go as follows:
People slamming down their favorite poems a la imeem, box.net, youtube, etc.
People posting their favorite poems.
People posting their favorite fic that use poems for their inspiration/key scenes.
People writing fic for the poems that are posted.
People pimping other cool literacy/arts charities.
Is this totally stupid? (Maybe.) Is it totally dorky? (Yes.) Would it die a horrible death before it ever even got started? (Probably.)
But I still think it would be cool if it happened. :/
ETA: Also, I had to chuckle a bit when I saw this post on my LJ since my layout automatically converts my subject lines to all-caps. Sorry, e.e.cummings!
