Ban the Bag

Jul 24, 2008 00:50

Los Angeles consumers use 2.3 billion plastic bags each year.

That is soon going to change.

Today the city council unanimously voted to ban the plastic bag by 2010 if the state does not create a 25 cent bag tax before hand.
The council also agreed to an ordinance that will ban the use of Styrofoam at all city sponsored events, meetings and property. This apparently includes all vendors at LAX. What a huge, great start!!!
