Although... it occurs to me it's quite a bit after midnight.
Ended up going to the Music Box on my own. After about half an hour of winding through one-way streets to find a parking space, I got in at right about midnight (glad I went early!) and
proceeded to represent Wisconsin.
Oh yeah, they actually
throw water during Sweet Transvestite. Even thouse I was on the other side of the center section, I got a couple of big drops on me.
Next time I'll need some of you peeps to help me out -- it felt about as disorganized as my TS experience, and I could have used a bit more lung power! Besides, I mess up way too much when I'm alone.
(I don't think I realized that Frank was a girl until the corset came off at the end, but with hips like that how could one NOT tell?)
They were also very adamant about no sex in the theater (just like TS), and that they had a tendency to shine the spotlight on people they caught. The spotlight cut out at some point during the show (hence a lot of dark and blurry photos I didn't include and/or deleted), but they apparently used a handheld, portable model to catcht a couple on top of each other, seemingly innocuously -- although her hand just kept moving up and down and up and down...
Also, I have some pics of the "creamy delicious", since the only bit I've shown to anyone was the offical website version. The pickguard was a lot brighter than I was expecting, but that's hardly a mark against it. Gonna need a dedicated amp for it, though. I also had a hard time figuring out how to use the "tremelo" (it's vibrato, folks -- I don't care what two generations of guitarists have to say about it) until I examined the assembly and realized that the entire bridge/tailpiece was able to rock back and forth. I have no idea what else I could have been expecting.
This probably isn't vindication of buying a (cheap) Stratocaster, but I noticed that John Mayer was playing one in that Chappelle Show clip "White People Dancing". Except, you know, he actually shelled out the cash for a real one. Awesome.
I still love my delicious bass to death, though. Maybe it because I've had more time to acclimate, but the whole bass playing process feels more intuitive to me, which is probably why I went with that first.
(Also updated the galleries a bit, adding to existing ones where I'd been sort of lax keeping them updated...)
