Title: Shuffling Realities
Length: 1 / 7
Rating: NC-17
Pairings: YooSu, JaeHo
Summary: Park Yoochun is married to Kim Junsu. But, what happens when Junsu goes back to being Xiah?

It was very weird, being treated like a stranger by the man he loved most.

When Yoochun first sat down on the couch, the other shifted away to increase the distance between them.

A non subtle movement which slashed his heart at the same velocity.

Not only did Junsu not want to be anywhere near the other, he also avoided any eye contact, looking everywhere around the inside of the house but at the space where the man sat.

Pushing a glass of water across the coffee table. "Have a drink."

"I'm fine." Tone as plain as the liquid offered.

"Erhm... Su, do you really not remember who I am or who you are?"

"I know perfectly who I am. But I definitely do not know who you are or why I'm here." Suddenly remembering something. "And you call me.. Su?"

Puzzlement twirling around in his eyes. "Your name. Kim Junsu? I thought you just said you know who.."

"I know. But how did you find out what my name is?"

Alright, time to tell the full story. He reached out for the smaller hands, wanting to hold them but stopped himself before he evoked a sign of rejection. "Aish..."

"Well?"

"Yes, sorry. I.. I'm Park Yoochun. I first met you two and a half years ago when you were sent into Bupyeong Sen Hospital. That evening, I was on duty as a resident doctor in the Emergency department. Your injuries were very serious and looked like they had been inflicted by a violent assault." Eyebrows knitted, he closed his eyes and shook his head as if trying to shake off an unwanted memory.

An unexpected sign of patience sat printed in the calm eyes.

"There was no form of identification on you and you were only identified after your prints were matched. However, there wasn't anything listed under your next of kin. We waited, but nobody came in to ask on you. So that was all we had, a name." A short pause for a sip from the rejected drink. "You suffered memory loss due to head injures and couldn't provide answers either. Anyway, I was your doctor-in-charge throughout the period of your hospitalization and.. we fell in love during those months. Not long after you recovered and was discharged, we got married. Then we lived here together in this house. I continued to work at the hospital while you stayed home and did some home based clerical work." The last part hurt badly, the words spoken like he was telling of another person's love.

Having been silent till now, the surprise in his eyes that appeared with the news of the marriage was forced down as he spoke in a voice without any trace of emotion. "Where is this place?"

"Near the northeastern boundary of Gyeyang-gu, Incheon."

Sharp eyes easily spotted the phone placed on the nearby cabinet. Picking up the handset, he dialled a number and waited for the call to be answered. "Hyung, it's me." He read off the address from a mailer lying on the table and hung up.

Yoochun could not have missed out this end of the colloquy. The few words clearly indicated the other's intention. "S.. Junsu.. Are you leaving?"

"Yes. This is not me. I'm going back to being who I really am."

The chill of his words smothered any warmth from the fireplace, freezing the love in the older man's heart.

No other exchange transpired for the next two hours.

In other to avoid feeling more awkward, the men laid back in their seats and napped, both drained from the evening's disillusionment.

A low growl of an engine roused them, sending extreme opposites of joy into their newly woken minds.

Standing up, he bowed as a form of gratitude for the care received but left no other expression. After all, he could only be conscious of the healthy body that resulted from the two years spent in the company of this man.

"Junsu! Must you go?" Sorrow embedded deeply, Yoochun was still unwilling to accept the fact that he had just lost the love from his spouse and was now going to lose the man physically as well.

"Definitely. And there is no Junsu, I am Xiah." Walking out of the house, he crossed the front porch and got into the waiting car.

Tears finally escaped the clutch of his eyelids, Yoochun sliding down the frame of the door into a squat as he watched the rear lights of the vehicle shrink till they disappeared in the distance.

"Su..." Breathing out the term of endearment, his body trembled as his sentiments gushed forth, finally breaking the dam that held them back in the face of his beloved.

"C-come back.."

But there was no one to answer the plead.

All that was left were the intangible marks of the person he loved with his life.

---

Home sweet home. How could this term ever be used by me? Xiah smirked as he glanced through the interior of the room. Dressed once again in a Hugo Boss suit, he basked in the familiarity of the luxurious material, running his fingers over the sparkle of the cuff links.

Yunho poured the Scotch whiskey into two tumblers and handed one to the other. "Come, a toast to your return."

Tipping the glasses in the celebratory mood, the men downed their drinks.

Getting a refill, the elder watched with reverence at how Xiah could so instantly regain the air of sovereignty and confidence that he had been without for such a long period of time.

"It's good to have you back."

"It's good to be back."

Everything looked to be the same but two years of his absence could not have forced a standstill on the environment. Not to mention that hIs body was currently serving a strong reminder of the changes. However, determined to return to his former life and stature, the man forced himself to ignore the discomfort in his lower body and focus on the matter at hand. "How has everything been while I was away?"

"I've been making the decisions in your place, hope you don't mind that."

Nothing but a redundant formality.

Yunho easily took that slight nod and smile as an acknowledgment. "Your disappearance never left the top spot on my mind. We've searched everywhere that I could think of but all to no avail. The houses, clubs, warehouses and even the alleys. Swept the entire area where the attack took place, but nope, found nothing at all. Who would've thought that you'd turn up in Incheon?"

"I was surprised too. But don't remember anything about it. Must have climbed onto some truck or bus in my escape." And he did not want to remember anything that ever happened in that place, taking a mouthful of the liquor and willing for the heat running through his oesophagus to burn away any mushy images hidden in his mind.

"What's most important is that you're fine and back here now." Given the years that they had been through together, the elder knew his friend well enough to see that a certain someone was avoided in their conversation and he complied to the evasion.

Emptying his low ball glass, Xiah gathered the other glass and sauntered to the bar counter, where he poured in another shot.

"Ever since that night when we separated while running away from Wataru's men, and I came back alone, the bastard has been pouring trouble on my feet at every possible chance. But he just didn't dare cross the line. Guess he was worried that you'd come back, had no proof that you were dead. He tried to fish for info but I gave him nothing. At least that kept him on his toes."

Swirling the frosted cubes around in the golden fluid, the younger man squinted as he took in how the white was taken away. "Miyawaki Wataru, be grateful that you were on your toes for the past two years. Let's see how much longer you get to stay standing."

A/N:
Wanted to make it in time for Junsu's birthday. Well, guess I still made it for certain time zones.
To readers, I apologise. Been really busy. Rest assured that I won't drag the next chapter till the next birthday(Jae's).
It's not a long chapter, but hope that it's not that bad.

Nobody guessed it this way huh? Xiah regained his memory, not lost it. ;p
