I'm happy. I actually had a good week (Really, past 3 weeks) in school, and I had a great weekend to top it off.
I just finished out Saucier (Stocks, Soups, and Sauces for you non-cooks out there). I'm fairly confident that I was able to complete the course with a A. I did very well on the practicals, and I should have gotten at least a 95% on the final exam. An interesting side note: Our chef was a very strict teacher, until the minute we were done with our tests. After that he got all fun and joked around with us about everything we did. It was the strangest thing.
Anyways.
On Friday, Jen and I went to the nearby mall that we had never been in so I could take my knives in to be sharpened. Oddly enough, the people who owned the shop must not be very original..the place was called "The Knife Shop" Anyways, while we were there I also picked up a new knife and a new honing steel. I adore this knife. It's nice and heavy, and unbelievably sharp.
Here it is. (4th knife down the page, the 8" Cooks Knife)
Then yesterday, I got a fair amount done around the apartment. All boring stuff...cleaned the place up, did laundry. But the laundry part was especially good, because I finally washed a lot of stuff I've needed to for nearly 3 months. So now almost all my clothes are clean, and I won't have to do this much laundry for a long while.
Last night Jen and I saw "Mean Girls." A decent movie, not the greatest. Don't get me wrong it was funny. And it had a few other good things. Lets put it this way: It involves some people getting run over by vehicles. That always makes a movie decent.
Then today we took a trip up to Sedona, just to take a drive, takes some pictures, get some scenery in, etc. It was nice and relaxing, but I'm very tired of working the gas pedal. Also, my truck is in dire need of a brake job; the warped rotor is getting much worse.
So that's it for now, I'll update more soon.
