Yesterday hubby and I went with our good friends Dan and Suzanne Griffith to a SAM art installation honoring urban parkspace. They took over some of the city parking spaces and made them into little park zones with sod and everything! I planted some cress in a little pot at the Tilth organization's area and also wrote a haiku to hang with others in a little tree. The lady running that section was very personable and liked my idea of taking folks on ferry rides this fall to write haiku en route. . .I guess she takes folks on little urban walks in the spring and summer, to observe and write haiku, but it is too wet in winter. . .anyway, she wrote my idea down; should've charged her for it, ha ha! My bestest roomate Louise was very involved in Tilth when we lived together in Ballard - hello Louise!

Suzanne got a lovely bead necklace for her first day of teaching her college class next week, I got an autobio of the 40s-50s Movie Star Mercedes McCambridge (I am a sucker for reading about old Hollywood); it only cost 53 cents! And hubby got a book about Cannabis. . .which cost five bucks, ha. We ate very good Chinese food and at the end of the day, we almost couldn't find my car, dudes. . .so we must have had FUN, right?!
Finally, we began the day at a fun little diner in Bremerton the Griffiths knew of - the Hi Lo - has the BEST old thermos collection in the world! we got to eat in a hippie bus, fitted with a booth. . .and I bought hubby's nephew's new baby boy a tie dyed onesie. . .if you are ever in the Bremerton area, heck, if you are ever in WASHINGTON, you gotta check this place out ;-)
