Understanding Pairing: BiasxYou
Genre: Romance
Rating: PG
Summary: Everyone has their moments of time needed to themself. So do you but what sets others apart are the people around you who can understand this and you who can't let it consume you.
Note: I wrote this while in the hair salon and didn't have any specific bias in mind as it really can apply to whoever you fancy.
Sitting. Staring. Waiting. On your balcony you've seen all types of colors. It's been hours or minutes maybe seconds. Time isn't something that you've noticed while sitting, staring and waiting. Instead there's only been the sounds of cars zooming by, bass booming, kids laughter, adults yelling and at moments serene calmness all around you. Blues, reds, greens, oranges, you've seen them all in so many different shades you couldn't even begin to list them all. What's that buzzing nose? Not your phone. Oddly enough? It could be buzzing but that clingy piece of technology is for once not glued to your hip. It's been some time, you know that. The light is fading, the wind is brushing past your skin at a faster rate making little goosebumps rise along your arms.
You don't move though. Just continue sitting in your chair knees up close to your chest, arms on them while your chin is resting atop your arms. It's peaceful here. Ultimately you don't even notice when the last of the light fades. Lost in your own world of various thoughts and feelings that don't even bare fruit before they drift away. It's comfortable. You're comfortable.
Except you aren't.
Your mind has tricked you into believing so. Or more so you've let your mind do just that. It's easy. Escaping reality. Sometimes it's the perfect break for oneself. You of course are included in that. The creak of a door sliding open can be heard to anyone and everyone except you. The soft footsteps that follow on the cold concrete balcony floor, make their way to you. Even a voice that is full of warmth, love, longing can be heard. Once again you're oblivious to it being there. Strong, lean, warmth is wrapped around your shoulders and it's then that you realize just how cold you've been.
Sitting.
Staring.
Waiting.
The chilly breeze is replaced by hot breath against your neck and your muscles relax. When did they become so tense? That smooth familiar voice you could never mistake was calling your name. "What are you doing out here? You feel like ice?" It's worried.
Why?
All of this seems odd to you. That is until the warmth that was there is removed and replaced with sharp keen eyes staring directly into yours. That voice is calling your name once more and this time it reaches.
Reaches you.
Snapping out of your haze, you blink your eyes slowly. In front of you is a man that you've always known. You've known him even before you realized it. The beating of your heart, always hitched when he entered the room. It knew him long before you realized. That however didn't make life any easier.
His hands cupped your cheeks as he peered at you curiously, "Babe, you're still with me right?" he questioned with an underlying anxiety that made your lips twitch into a small smile. You nod as well as you can with him holding you. "Yes.." you say softly and his eyes probe for any hint of a lie, of your will fading. Once satisfied he nods though still wary and you can tell.
Bringing your hands up you cup his face, caressing his cheek with the pad of your thumb. "I'm with you. Always with you, jagiya." Leaning forward you
Lightly press your lips against his. Then you place your hand over his peeling it away from your face and entwining your fingers together. "Come on, " You urge him, putting your legs firmly back on the ground and standing up. They were back where they belong for another day.
You can tell he's still hesitating slightly so you let him into your mind a bit, "Some days are harder than others." Smiling brightly at the man who has captured your heart, body and soul, "I just missed you is all." As soon as those words leave your lips you can see the understanding in his eyes about it all. Love is never a question but the hardships of every day life. The other man, the star, he can never leave behind and the current you staying steady, quietly by his side a toll is taken. Bit by bit it grows. He feels it too, you know and even has similar thoughts to your own. Some days just aren't easy.
He pulls you into his arms almost a bone crushing hug. He's rubbing your back and kisses the top of your head. "I've missed you too. I've missed you too." You can hear it in his voice he's not only speaking in the here and now but on a more deeper level. He understands and that makes everything better.
One day at a time.
One step at a time.
One breath at a time.
This is how the two of you have learned to live. To make this relationship work. Loosening his grip just enough so he can look down at you he claims your lips with his own. The kiss is slow, sweet, full of his longing as well as the passion he feels for you every day and of course the love he hopes he can convey to you every moment he's able to give you. It makes your heart flip flop and those butterflies a fluttering in your stomach. You show him the same to the best of your ability, at times you don't think it's enough but somehow he's always letting you know it's more than enough.
Pulling back from the kiss you lick your lips out of habit and his eyes darken. "Haven't I told you before not to do that?" You chuckle and tug on his hand, he has but it never stops you. Leading him inside, he shuts the sliding glass door and with it he closes those brief moments of hardship that overwhelm you every now and then. He's slain that dragon once again and he knows, expects understands you'll do the same when it creeps up on him. You're in this together, forever. Just the way you've promised.
