The Year So Far...
The year so far.
It’s been a bit of a year of extremes so far, and it’s only March. My Dad is not well, so I’ve been helping him and my sister. I applied for another job (not to change from what I do now), but I didn’t get it - not much of a surprise, as I didn’t have enough experience, but it was a huge surprise that I even got as far as the interview. Anyway, This past week Parental Unit was rushed back to hospital, and then everyone was sick. My sister, my nephew. Me. All the Seal-clan up here. I was caught the worst - why me?? - I have never been so sick before, even with having morning sickness and food poisoning. Worse than Salmonella. I mean, I never knew you could would eventually sick up pond water. Everything hurts still (and it was 4 days ago) I’m still exhausted as everyone was sick at night and so I’ve had very late nights and broken sleep for the past few days.
Yuletide was a mess for me - I had to give up again, my Dad was back in hospital at the time and Christmas was horrible (I don’t like Christmas at the best of times). Much to my shame I got six (yes, six!!!) fics and didn’t get the chance to really get into them until much later.

If you saw my Yuletide request post, you will see that the last one served me right for being careless with what I asked for. “Use only 1 and 0”. And speaking of Gauntlet:Dark Legacy, did you know there was a novel published? No, I didn’t either until I was randomly looking at Pinterest and discovered “Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. Paths of Evil.” No sequel, but even more opportunity for more fan fic! That being said, I have a suspicion that the cover artist didn’t know the game that well, and hadn’t read the book…
Which brings be back to writing. I have been writing, which is good, and that in turn has brought me back to LJ, and a place to think aloud about my fan fiction.
I have been a little wary and hands off for a long while, but I’ve decided that that was wrong. Going back into some of my old writing has cheered me up and I forgot how much fun I found it all. I miss the fun of writing and sharing it with people who also found it fun. There was lots of fun and I miss the community of writers.
Not sure where to start. First might be to go and see what it is I wrote all those years ago, and see where I got to in the WIPs, like Madness of Kings and Watching and Waiting. Those 2 are going to be the hardest to pick up, as I didn’t make too many notes for those. I can’t remember what was supposed to happen, so they might need to be re-done. I don’t like these being unfinished. I don’t like leaving it half done. Then there is my new fandom love - King Arthur, Legend of the Sword. Not only is Payment for the Past back on track after having a timing malfunction, I’ve thought up another fun story for it.
And I really want to write a fic titled “Bill and Bed’s excellent adventure” though I don’t know what would happen in it.
