Fortunately, I'm Not Drinking It For Health Reasons: Yesterday they shut off the water in our apartment building for most of the day. before going to bed last night, I brushed my teeth and drank a glass of tap water. This morning, I drank another glass of tapwater before heading out to start my day, and was greeted by this sign in the lobby:
IMPORTANT: Due to the water being shut off, you must boil it before consuming it for health reasons until further notice. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Nice. That sign was not there last night when I got in.

Cursed By The Transit Gods: Continuing in this week's Incredibly Shitty Luck With Taxi Rides theme, I took a cab home from work last night (because I worked from 8am to 12:30am; 16½ hours of non-stop laffs). We got to my turn-off on the highway... and it was closed for construction. No warning sign, nothing. Just.. closed. So we move on to the next turn-off, Eglinton... which is also closed. So now, we must go to the 401 eastbound to Martin Grove, then drive through suburbia to get me home. The meter read $55... and then this happened:
CABBY:Wow. $55. How much does this normally cost you?
ME :Forty bucks. Well, thirty-seven, plus tip.
CABBY:Okay, just give me forty, then.
ME :Abi-abi-abi-abi-WHAAAA?!?
CABBY:Well, that wasn't your fault, man. That was just a crappy deal. You shouldn't have to pay for that.
ME :[Eyes make comical "boi-yoi-yoinnnnng" sound]
So my cab ride home, while taking about 15 minutes longer than usual, was no more expensive than it normally is (so it costs me nothing, because HellCo picks up my $40 fare).
What the hell, Cabby? I'm trying to be bitter and cynical here! Way to display the milk of human kindness!

BlaK Is The New Stupid: Coke has a released a new variant of its cola, called BlaK. It-
...no, stop right there, I don't need to know one additional scrap of information to determine that I will never be drinking this. "BlaK"? Are you shitting me with your hep, spell-it-slightly-incorrectly-like-the-cool-kidz-do, capital-letter-at-the-end-isn't-that-RAD cola name?
Oh, and P.S., I will pronounce it "Blah-Kay" until the end of time, you DiKz.
