Neither of these is my best work, but I'm pleased with the results. The top one was really an experiement to see if I could put in some convincingly realistic CGI (while I own a lightsaber that looks just like that, the one in the video above exists nowehere but as a 3D object on my hard drive). I dub this one.. so-so. The saber itself isn't bad, but it doesn't move as "naturally" as I'd like.
The PSJ Logo turned out pretty well, I think, although I might need to slow it down in spots. I did it entirely in TrueSpace 2.01, despite owning TrueSpace 7.51 (the new interface intimidates the hell out of me). You can't see it clearly, but I really like the skin on the pear; it looks quite convicing up close. I spent a fair amount of time hand-drawing spots on it. Pity they get lost in wee YouTubian resolutions.
By the way, if you're interested in experimenting with TrueSpace, you can download version 3 for free from the Caligari corporation. Although it is nowhere near as cutting-edge as 7.51 is, it's still an excellent program, and an awesome way to experiment with 3D software ... for free!
