On a more festive note, I had a fantastic cocktail a few nights ago called Oaxaca Fire and had fair success recreating it at home last night. It was a margarita with thai chiles and a rim of cayenne, black, and crushed red pepper. I love sweet and spicy stuff, and as you can imagine this packed a kick. It was! But beware - do not undertake with chapped lips!
The beauty of mixed drinks like this is that you can sub fresh ingredients, like fresh lime & orange juices, instead of prefab mixers to cut out all the sugary crap and make it taste even more amazing. This is one for the favorites list, and I will be looking out for the Thai chiles for next time (I substituted them with some Cholula hot sauce). The jalapeno margarita just requires a little jalapeno jelly.

Indeed there is! I have not tried to duplicate that one at home, but as mentioned above, it's the same ingredients plus a little of that jalapeno jelly used for cooking with pork and lamb and such. It is SO good! LOVE that sweet/spicy combo thing!
