I thought they were awesome too! But I posted no deep thoughts. Possibly because I was emotionally drained after reading them all, heh. As much as Prim's death shocked me, it was really Finnick dying, so suddenly and horribly, that really had me bawling.
I wasn't particularly invested in the love triangle, mostly because Gale didn't really have much significant page time until Mockingjay, and by that time I felt like Peeta was obviously who Katniss would end up with. It made sense to me that Katniss herself might not realize that, but from a narrative viewpoint Peeta just seemed like such a better-developed character.
CINNA NOOOOOES I LOVED CINNA
RIGHT??? Cinna was awesome. The death toll in this series is a little staggering!
POOR FINNICK. I was shocked at how fast his death was! I thought there would be more lingering over him. I'd grown to love him, too, and I felt so badly for poor Annie.
Haha, yes, Katniss *was* frustrating. ;) I did enjoy the series a lot (though I'm far more in love with Patrick Ness's Chaos Walking series personally), but she made me :/ sometimes. I wish she had been more textually in touch with her feelings but I do agree she chose Peeta.
I have not read that series! *makes note* I also wish she'd been more in touch with her feelings in the text, but at least that was a consistent character trait. Heh.
OKAY I JUST FINISHED. AND BUTTERCUP HAD ME CRYING, TOO.
And I totally agree that she had chosen Peeta loooooong ago.
I do wish that Katniss hadn't been so easily led by everyone around her, controlled until - really - the very end. But man, I enjoyed the hell out of that world and killing Coin was bad ass.
