How To Make Your Own SDWolfpup Blog Post

Aug 02, 2010 15:12

SUBJECT LINE: Relevant and/or interesting song lyric (if there is not one in the song you are listening to, search iTunes until you find one) or some random crap that comes to mind

BODY: Greet reading list in friendly manner. Apologize for missing birthdays or other events. Apologize for not responding to comments. Briefly discuss things you have been doing in physical space. Talk about Puplet.

Comment on random TV show or movie you recently watched, typically along the lines of: "I loved it!"

Link to some media-related link that someone else inevitably found first and sent to you. Possibly make a vid rec.

Answer meme that brought you to post to your blog in the first place.

End with comment about how busy you're going to be, but make (empty) promises that you'll respond to comments SOON!!1!1

TAGS: Bemoan the fact that you didn't put in a more orderly tag system when you first started this, and swear silently that you will someday go back and re-tag all of your 2000+ entries with your dream tagging system. Use the same tags you always use.

MOOD: Look for one that isn't 'busy' but that fits. Settle on 'crazy.'

LOCATION: Ignore this like you always do.

MUSIC: Put name of song from which you used the lyrics. If you have not actually been listening to the song during the writing of the post, listen to it now so you're not lying (and so the LJ Police won't come and break down your door? IDK). Even a few seconds counts!

Ignore the spell check.

Spend at least as long as you wrote the post on picking out an appropriate icon. Search through all 200 you have loaded and settle on one of the 10 you always use.

Make sure you update the date/time and then immediately hit POST.

Stare hungrily at Gmail Inbox tab waiting for the little (1) to appear, completely oblivious to how guilty you're going to feel later once all the tasty new comments have rolled in.

Wait a few days to a week. Repeat.

(Ed. note: The last four days have been such that I have seriously considered canceling our trip to Vividcon at least 10 times. But the plane tickets are non-refundable, so we're still going. This sentence kind of encapsulates how I feel right now: "It does not matter how much you love your child: Caring for a baby is the ultimate tear-you-down-and-build-you-back up experience." God, is it ever. I am totally torn down right now, so to those of you I'll be seeing at VVC: please please please excuse any antisocial behavior on my part. I won't have enough days to build back up before we're there. But I'm trying! And I'm going to Vividcon! We're leaving on Thursday, so this LJ will likely be on hiatus from now until we get back on Monday. Take care y'all. I can't wait to see those of you who are going!)
