Let me kick things off with my wishes for a happy happy birthday to
asta77! Asta, I can't wait to see you at BP even though I'll likely be pimped into White Collar. :P I hope you have a great day!
Speaking of Bitchin' Party, I found out that AHH will be gone the entire Saturday of the con, which means I have Puplet Duty that whole day (and all of my normal go-to for babysitters will be AT BP, hee). So I'll have a little mini-fan with me for the time that I'm there. You are welcome to avoid me that day if you aren't a fan of babies, but if you ARE, then please feel free to come and say hi, because I will feel weird enough having the kid there. I'll be missing all the panels that day since I don't want to bring a baby into the rooms, but I'll be hanging around at least. :)

Oh HEY did you hear
brynnmck and I went to see BON JOVI?
She has an
excellent concert report here. My concert report in brief: IT. WAS. AWESOME.
We got there early enough to spend a stupid amount of money on t-shirts (we weren't going to! But then we got swept up by the MAGIC; I'm wearing mine now and I still don't regret it) and have our pictures taken in front of this sign where all the fans were leaving messages for Bon Jovi to read later. (We were going to leave a message after the show but the pen had run out of ink.) We also were there early enough to get food because I hadn't had anything since breakfast except way more Goldfish crackers than I'd had in a long, long time, and I managed to buy the most disgusting turkey sandwich known to man and an overpriced bottle of water that I ended up desperately needing because there was so much "woo"ing and singing along to songs.
Dashboard Confessional were the opening act, and they sounded really good. The lead singer was adorable, lanky and had kind of a cute puppy energy going. (Him trying to pimp their new album: "I'm a singer, not a salesman!") They ended with 'Vindicated,' a song I haven't heard in awhile but it reminded me of how much I enjoyed it. They also played one of my favorite songs off of the new album.
Then BON JOVI came on (the capslock is a requirement now, I'm afraid) and rocked our faces off. They played a perfect setlist: the most accessible of their new stuff and the best of their old stuff. Jon Bon Jovi is THE MOST ADORABLE MAN ALIVE, basically (and still super hot, wow), and he clearly LOVES his job and his band and his LIFE, and that made the concert even better. Even songs he's had to have played, literally, a thousand times or more like 'Wanted' and 'Livin On A Prayer' he gave his all to and sang them like they were brand new. He also is made of cheese, in the best way. He's so EARNEST about EVERYTHING, but he sells it, totally.
The whole band was totally adorable; I'm a fan of Bon Jovi but have never been deep into them, and the concert gave me a whole new appreciation for their enthusiasm and their talent. They can all clearly play, and enjoy it and each other. Richie Sambora impressed the hell out of me with the song he sang, enough that I ended up buying his first solo album the next day - and it's good! I'd see him in a solo concert, honestly. He's got a great, bluesy voice and energy that would be fun in a small venue, especially.
Singing along with a crowd of thousands was pure bliss. It must be such a trip for them to hear us all singing the song for them, basically (and oh I was SO PROUD of how into it everyone got, especially for the final one-two punch of 'Wanted' and 'Living On A Prayer.' You should've heard the way we all did the harmonized "waaaaaannttteeeeeedddd" bit. Way to go, Seattle crowd. <3).
And then on the way out through the parking garage afterward, we got to enjoy that post-concert high where you feel connected to everybody else who went and people were blaring Bon Jovi while waiting in the line and it was just...man it was awesome. I haven't been to a real big arena concert like that (barring the AI concert) in ages, and it was a fantastic night and of course going with Brynn is guaranteed good times anyway. But if Bon Jovi are coming to your town and you're waffling about ticket prices, it's so worth it. SO WORTH IT.

And finally it has been gorgeous here in Seattle lately, so AHH, Puplet, and I have been taking advantage of it and going on walks. Here's a couple of pictures of the local beauty.
I am still extremely distraught over the loss of my vidding computer, but at least there's been sunshine and friends and Bon Jovi to help cheer me up. :)
