Time to come to you, O Wise Flist, for a 'what should AHH and SDW watch next (after the SG-1 movies)?' poll. (
umbo, you don't have to answer, I know what you'd pick. ♥)
These are the shows that we have that we haven't watched yet, in alphabetical order!
Poll What should we watch, take 20948 For context within what else is being watched: I'm slooooooooowly going through Alias and The OC as my & Brynn's schedules permit, and then Rescue Me and So You Think You Can Dance (EEEEEE) are the only live airing shows we've got over the summer.
Last night we watched the last three unaired episodes of Pushing Daisies. (As a side note, ABC is now going to air them starting May 30!)
It was great that Olive really got a chance to shine in the last episodes. She's adorable and kickass and then she also starts a new relationship and finally gets over Ned. It was a good ending for her. I was also really happy with the Emerson backstory we got, although I could see how they could have stretched it out a lot more given more time for the series to play out. But still: Gina Torres as his ex! That is a lucky man. *g* I was really happy to see Simone again, which I did not expect, but they are SO CUTE together. Yay for Emerson. Hee.
One of the things I like best about PD is that when the characters are annoying, the show basically always calls them on it. Like Chuck getting all pissed at Ned for encouraging her aunts to go tour Europe. I was flabbergasted at her response, but then we were meant to be. And of course Emerson got to both compliment them (their moral compasses always point "do the right thing"! Aw!) and berate them, so it was a win-win.
The ending of the final episode felt really rushed and tacked on to me, but I was still happy to get a little bit of closure (though they neatly avoided addressing Chuck and Ned's ultimate dilemma). I'm really glad that Chuck finally outed herself to her aunts; that made me really happy. It certainly sets the fandom at a place where fic writers have a lot to work with. I don't know that I'll be picking up the comic books, honestly, so I'm happy to leave the show where it was at. I just wish that the whole of the final episode had felt more final and less like "oh crap we got canceled, here's a quick epilogue." Heh. Also: not enough Digby! Or Pigby! :)
Anyhow, I'll miss PD, its colors and characters and catchy phrases. There isn't anything else quite like it on TV.
