Holy cow I LOVE this version of "Stairway to Heaven." ♥ for Dolly.
Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers on my flist, whether your children be humans or dogs or cats or rats or fish! :) Being a pet-mom has its own difficulties (and rewards!), and the good ones should be recognized, too.
We had another warm, sunny-ish day today, so AHH and I took advantage of it and did yardwork. WOOOOO. I actually was excited about it, because our yards (front AND back) are terrible, weedy messes and I'm ashamed to look at them right now. I just have trouble motivating myself to get out there, so having the two of us doing it together makes it a bit easier. Still, even though we put in a ton of work, we only finished about a third of our front yard. This is not because our front yard is particularly large, but because it is really that much of a mess. Now I am sore and sleepy, but we're going for Mexican food so I will soldier on. *g*
I have finally caught up on all the TV we had to watch! Except Flashpoint, but I'm working on that slowly.
I liked the Dollhouse finale with the exception of
the one comment about how we now have a black president, which through me right out of the episode, and as a potential series finale, I think it works just fine. I suspect the show won't be coming back, but Fox is a fickle beast.
I loved last week's Lie To Me. Foster makes me deeply, deeply happy. And it was weird to see Franco from Rescue Me being such a creep.
We also watched a tiny little show called Prison Break, though I actually don't have much to say.
I really enjoyed the episode, I'm just, I think, in a holding pattern for the finale (*SNIFF*) next week. From a Michael/Mahone perspective, there was a lot of good moments, something that I have admittedly been missing the last few episodes.
We had Michael called Alex right away when they were in trouble (and having Alex on SPEED DIAL, did you see that?); sending Alex to take care of Christina (in Michael's world, giving responsibility for something important to someone is a big deal); the whispered conversation about Sara (and the General's "would you like some alone time" - YES, PLZ, WRITERS); and them re-engaging their mindmating while trying to figure out the next steps. Plus Alex handing over Scylla without a word to Michael when he found out Sara was in danger! BOYS. <3
I'm annoyed Sara didn't find somewhere else to stay in touch, but at least she fought back a bit against T-Bag. I thought her and Alex's scene together was great; I love that his defenses are up, feeling like she doesn't like him and so putting forth that he doesn't like her either. I think there's more mutual respect there than that exchange implies, and can see more layers to it pretty easily, but then that's why I'm a fangirl. Hee.
Rice and beans are calling me! I hope everyone had a good weekend.
