And today hasn't gone much better; I can use this meme, via
_jems_:
1. Post about something that made you happy today even if it's just a small thing.
2. Do this every day for a week without fail.
3. Tag 8 of your friends to do the same.
Something that made me happy today is that I finally made appointments for a couple of things I've been putting off for, no lie, two or more months. I feel better having done it, more in control of those things that I can control and better able to then accept those I can't.
I also read this
Merlin/Prison Break crossover comment thread, the idea of which is happy-making in the extreme. And I uploaded a few new icons, and I still have 50 spaces left. Having 195 icons is the greatest thing ever, you guys. *squees quietly*
I'm not a fan of tagging, so do this if it pleases you to!
Oh, hey, some other things that makes me happy: The Decemberists' new album has a release date: March 24, 2009!!!!! (*ponders* I think that's enough exclamation points to fully get across my excitement.)
Here's the track listing.
A Middleman vid rec:
Wake Up by
croc-rocketfan. Fun, fast-paced vid all about Wendy Watson, butt-kicker and artist extraordinaire.
Magnificent Seven, "New Law" -
Civil war uniforms FTW. What's fandom's thought on Ezra fighting for the Confederacy in his past? He doesn't strike me as an army type, but the way part of that whole bit was worded, and him knowing how to fire the canon, makes me wonder. Not that firing a canon is rocket science or anything, but. And his mother would really not have approved of the choice of going into the army. Ezra wouldn't have approved either, I'm sure. Heh. No money to be made in joining the army. I think Ezra is likely just a good actor who has watched a lot of people in order to be a better conman. And while I'm on the subject of Ezra anyway: he wants to buy the saloon! Aw! That's kind of adorable. It also seems awfully root-y for a guy who doesn't want to be tied down. (OMG y'all I love Ezra and his inner softy so much.)
Where is the "this is what they all did for three days" fic for Vin, Ezra, Josiah, and Nathan? I would be interested in reading that! Chris seemed to be in an awfully good mood in this episode, too. Especially when everybody came back together. Actually, any time he wasn't separated from the guys, he was happy. Aw, Chris. You love your boys! I was confused, though, why did Vin sit around with the wagon for two days? (I saw a glimmer of interest with the way he took out the guy guarding the wagon, though. That was fun!) I always enjoy when shows bring previous one-shot characters back for another episode, so it was fun to see all these people come back, from the bad guys to the town of Purgatory. A nice reunion-feeling episode, which I'm sure would have been neat for the cast and crew, too, after the cancellation.
Everybody's hair seemed a little longer and shaggier, too. Heh.

AHH and I also watched last night's Dexter, hence the extra space here, to prevent spoiling folks. I would like to say,
WELL-PLAYED show on the total fakeout of Dex's kidnapping. AHH and I were absolutely, totally shocked when it turned out to be Masuka and the boys. Just...wow. Wow. My hat is off to you guys. I loved the bachelor party; the staring between Miguel and Dexter was played in a really erotic way, I thought, with the strippers all around them and the purple lighting. Very cool.
The scene between Dex and Miguel at the end was intense; I find it hilarious that Miguel was still trying to treat Dexter as his best friend/brother, even to the end, until Dexter actually told him what happened with Oscar. (Which: woah.) I like how that parallels him telling Camilla the truth, too, before he killed her. The only time Dexter can be truly honest is when the other person is about to die. Ah, Dex.
I looooooved all of Deb's scenes in this episode (being Dexter's best man! Getting hit on by Quinn!), but the peak, by far, was her scene with Anton. That was incredible, on both of their parts. I wanted them to hug so badly! That one touch of the hands said volumes.
So we have Dexter's wedding, the fallout of Miguel's death, and the handling of George King left to deal with in the final episode. Should be a barnburner. This has been an excellent season.
And tonight is Prison Break night! And if you've read the summary of the episode, you'll know at least one reason I am REALLY EXCITED. (No, no hugging. I'm not THAT excited.)
