Best. Line. Ever.
Ok, so, why didn't anyone tell me The Office is like crack? AHH and I are pounding down episodes like they're going out of style, which is so unusual for us. We've seen through "A Benihana Christmas" so far and while I have lots of thoughts when I'm watching the show, when I sit down here at the computer I mostly want to mash the keyboard and flail around and print everybody's names in caps and use way too many exclamation points. I am totally loving the show!
Highlights include: Michael & kids. JIM AND KIDS. (Sorry, it's just that I'm at the point in my life where a man who is good with kids is the most attractive thing ever.) Karen + Pam = BFF. Dwight and Angela being oddly endearing together. Jim and Michael's talk at the end of ABC. The way season 3 is kind of not helping the latent Michael/Pam fic-reading urges that I've been having. (WHAT?! Under very specific circumstances I find the prospect incredibly appealing, ok?! Shut it! (Hee. Michael.)) Michael's intro videos. Jim faxing Dwight letters from himself FROM THE FUTURE. Drunken "Closer to Fine" a capella. Karen/Jim being also kind of adorable.
Pam is the most awesome that ever awesomed and I love her SO MUCH and when she cried in season 2 while talking about not having dreams and stuff I pretty much was a goner with Pam love. Someone asked me if I have a favorite character yet, and I finally do. It is so totally Pam. I love that she's getting a chance to branch out in season 3. Especially when Jim was away from Scranton; I really adored her getting to just talk to people she hadn't really talked to before. Like Toby. Aw, TOBY. I love Toby!!
See? Exclamation points and caps.
On Friday I watched several episodes of MDs with
greensilver. That was really good times! First because I got to hang out with greensilver, but also because MDs is a fun show (if occasionally full of anvils and cliches) and I know I should probably be slashing the leads but mostly I really really love
John Hannah's character and the janitorial staff lady. Neither of whose names I recall. Go team me. Plus, William Fichtner FTW, as always. We only got to episode 3, I think, before I apparently broke every DVD-playing piece of equipment in GS' house, so I look forward to watching the rest at some point.
Is anyone else watching the
Alaska Experiment on Discovery? It is so interesting! And makes me miss Alaska a lot. Our vacation there last year has stayed with me. The scenery was just so gorgeous, as was the whole atmosphere of it. Summer always gets my traveling blood pumping again; no trips for me this year, unfortunately, so here are some photos from last year:
This is a view of Juneau from the air, specifically from one of the prop planes.
This is Mendenhall glacier in Juneau itself.
This is from one of our glacier boat trips.
This is also from one of our glacier trips; that's a humpback whale fin. :)
In the words of Gonzo: I'm going to go back there someday.
Happy belated birthday wishes to
writteninstars! I hope you had a wonderful day; and that you have a spectacular year ahead. :)
