It was a cold night, and the snow lay 'round

Jan 11, 2007 09:25

Good morning, LJ! Seattle got more snow last night and I took more pictures and then went to download them and saw I had 70 pictures on my camera that I hadn't downloaded. "What is this?" I wondered genteely to myself. I found out they were mostly pictures from the last two storms. Hee. So let me take you back in time, flist, and show you our winter so far. *makes Wayne & Garth flashback noises*

Here are the icicles from our first snowstorm in November.

And here is the moon that I was trying to frame with the icicles in the previous shot.

Here is a shot of our Christmas lights; and if you look closely, you can see the snow, too.

Here's AHH and I trekking down our hill to see if we can drive our car back up. (We couldn't.)

Here's a brief cat interlude for Sebastian going crazy over the bag of miniature puffballs he'd stolen and ripped open.

And now we're at the windstorm and power outage portion of our winter, in December. Those two trees that are leaning over both used to stand upright.

More debris at a park.

Here's the gas fire where I spent four days in a row. As you can see, we had to jockey for position with the pets.

Cairo, especially, hated giving up his place by the fire. This is where we slept on the coldest night.

Here are Oliver and Sebastian sharing some heat in the chair I spent a lot of time in as well.

And now we've come back to today. Or rather, last night when it was actually snowing. Sydney is turning white before our very eyes!

Here's what it looked like this morning. To quote Ray Vecchio: "This is really beautiful!"

Oliver's wondering what the heck you're doing.

ETA: Here's an interesting and moving article on ESPN.com about one of the New Orleans Saints players taking one of the ESPN reporters on a tour of New Orleans this weekend.
