Still, you don't expect to be bright and bon vivant so far away from home

Which, I suppose, means that this post better be pretty bright and bon vivant. I'm finally home again and for more than a week even. It's a refreshingly different feeling. There is no laundry that must be done, no luggage waiting to be packed, I can actually make plans for a couple of weeks out, and my next trip will be for Vividcon. WOOT.

To distract you from the lack of content in my own post, here's a link: Opening paragraphs of PODs that yielded abbreviated reads. I.e., first lines that made you close the book and put it down forever. There are some really funny examples in here.

I finally got the Panic! at the Disco CD, "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" and I absolutely love it. I'd resisted buying it because of my disappointment with Fall Out Boy and I hadn't liked P!atD as much going in as I did FOB. But the Disco CD has been really fun to listen to due to the high showtune value of the songs. Not that they are showtunes, but I can't think of the word I actually want to use right now. They're lively with some interesting orchestrations going on and catchy beats, although I think FOB wins the battle of the song titles.

In honor of the new CD, and being home, here's a poll.

Poll The Finally Home Poll

I spent a lot of time last night organizing all of the DS fics I've been reading and plan to read. I have read a crazy amount of DS fic, you guys. Well, crazy for me. I'm hoping to get a rec post up sometime this week. After I, you know, still do those phone posts. Heh.

I did finally see the first two episodes of both SG-1 and SGA. I have nothing of import to say about them, except that I enjoyed them all. Claudia Black is my hero.

The workout plan faltered last week with travel and being busy with work, seeing friends (we played mini golf one night, which was really fun), and just being utterly exhausted on Friday, so I plan to get everything back on track this week. I bought myself a new workout outfit yesterday, as well as 1500 motivational stickers. 1500! And they only cost $3.00. I had no idea stickers were so cheap. Tonight is my first piano lesson in two months, so I may not workout tonight. But piano! Yay!

I feel like talking about vidding, but I don't have anything to say. Anybody have any questions or topics they want to discuss?

workout, linky mclinkerston, can music save your mortal soul, poll the other one
