Heroes - YES

I'm up through 1x18 - "Parasite" and I'm loving it! Completely hooked (and grateful for iTunes). Thanks to all who recommended it!

Some good stuff:

- Tickles my Hero-bone. I love hero stories, and it's great seeing how different people cope with the idea of suddenly having super-powers.

- Convoluted relationships, but tight story. This feels very much like a comic book (the ones I've read or read about, at least) rather than a serial on TV in that there are a lot of loose ends that get tucked in very nicely.

- Symbolism. Nice visual, literary, and character symbolism that keeps my brain going.

- Very multi-racial cast, and multi-ethnic relationships. The former is something you see more of today, but the latter is still relatively uncommon, so it's great to see many of those (and to see them treated like no big deal).

- Heavy Japanese dialogue. Okay, this is completely gratuitous, but it's one of those little things that makes me think this series was written with me in mind.

- It's interesting that the female Heroes tend to have "masculine" powers (things that make them tanks) while the male Heroes tend to have less aggressive powers. Very Buffy-esque.

I really like the characters too - I am particularly pleased with Hiro, for example, for finding a balance between whimsical and poignant, and with the actor for doing some excellent Japanese fanboying.

On another note, I think I may have an inspiration for a new layout.
