'Red' is the best single piece of fanfic I've ever read.

i'm especially fond of "Knuckles of the Skinnybone Tree" which is wincest and explicit... and "We Were Twenty" which is also wincest, but a lot sweeter and sadder, i think. but in the gen side is "El Viaje Misterioso de los Hermanos Winchester" which is really decent.

that's actually a list to the bigbang fics anyway, so if you feel up to it, they're fantastic.

and you can't go wrong reading fics by poisontaster. again, she's got a bunch of wincest, but she's got a really good feel for their voices, so you love her genfic too. if you go to her journal, she's got the whole list up as the first post.
