I have successfully finished the most difficult task that will face me while I am FMC Fellowship Committee Chair: a formal banquet for 140 with a preceding appetizer hour...while allowing for the need for gluten-free, dairy-free, paprika-free, oregano-free, hot red pepper-free, and cinnamon-free dishes. Set-up and prep began after work on Friday night until 9:30, and then I was back up and prepping at 5 am-running until clean-up was done at 9 pm Obviously it wasn't just me. I also had a committee of six more people (one who took on the "special needs" dishes), three extra-committee volunteers (I got one to organize the decorations), four high school youth group servers, and one middle school youth group server. I also had the help of my husband...he brought me lunch and volunteered his help for an hour or more during prep and then helped with clean-up. Man, did I feel loved! . My dinner group friends also helped with clean-up...along with some of the servers and one of my small-group members. Yay! Drinks with Todd, Erin, James, and Robin afterward at the Aristocrat ended a successful evening.
On a lighter note, Robin Y hosted a skin care class for the junior high girls from our church. I talked to them about various aspects of skin care and make-up application and let them try a number of my MK products. We all (yes, me too) put on masks and made scary faces for the camera and had a good time. I hope they learned some things that will help them as they become young ladies. I know they looked lovely before and afterward. :)
