I think yesterday went well. I woke up late but managed to get the coffee going and the ovens preheating in plenty of time. The Fellowship Committee had the whole breakfast ready fifteen minutes before serving time, and I had all but one of the pans washed before service. A couple church members pitched in and helped run and unload the dishwasher, so we had all of the dishes and silver done before service, too!
I wasn't particularly moved by our Easter service, but it was nice.
I saw two coyotes running from the pond by the Bank to the thicket near our apartment complex. Not something you expect in the city.
I didn't get the back rooms at Dogwood Place fixed up like I had wanted to, but I was running slowly yesterday afternoon. I did manage to serve supper only ten minutes later than planned, and that is after spending twenty minutes thawing chicken that I moved from the freezer to the fridge more than 24 hours earlier. It was great to have Momma, Poppa, Cara, and Blake with us for the evening. Even though Todd and I made a scene when he got upset about my airplane ticket prices for my May visits to my cousins, we eventually ended up handling it correctly and got it worked out. BTW Cara's first pie was great! Brown sugar and peaches make me happy. :) Oh, and Cara defended my decorations from a hungry Todd. ;) Since I've never hardboiled eggs for decoration before, I've never had to tell anyone not to eat the Easter eggs!
This morning, the living room smells like the daffodils that my parents brought yesterday. I love sunshiny daffodils!
I'm behind in my work, but I have one more happy thing to report. It seems that the birds finally found our bird feeders. Yay for birdsong!
