Just another quick update: yes, I've returned on the IMessengers. I ran into a major problem with Pidgin, and after a week I've got it partly working. But lost my ICQ, and MSN accounts.

I did a check again on Google for ubuntu repositories, when I found yet another program outdated, and yet it wasn't on the repositories list. Found a MASSIVE repositories list, took 10 minutes to install! Now it's downloading nearly 250 megs of updates. 2.5 hours to download, but it's got my babies in it. Pidgin 2.5.5, OpenOffice 3.01!
