Yesh, being the sysadmin of a company isn't all it's cracked up to be, let me assure you.
Yesterday I figured out finally what the devil was wrong with the web site, and why we couldn't upload files, without it timing out. Looks to been my own screw-ups. What can you expect from someone who doesn't know networking well?
Anyway, now I'm going though the site, in order to update it and guess what? Somehow nearly half of the files have ALL UPPERCASE names. Of course, I didn't notice it, and when it's uploaded, those files don't work, thanks to the stupid idea of Linux's case sensitive file format. That's always been a major headache with linux, and I basically see no real good reason for it.
Well going though the code on the site, I found out also that all the pages have the CSS in the files, instead of being an attached CSS file. I'm not sure how that happened either.
I feel like wiping the entire thing and redoing it all from scratch!
See why I gave up writing my own web site? Does anyone know if Dreamweaver 8 has settings to automatically lowercase file names, and also put CSS code into an attached file instead of sticking it in the pages?
Grr...someone hand me a bottle, I need a drink.
Addendium: Dang blast...I nearly forgot. Does anyone know if RapidWeaver is making a Windows version?
xerxes1 has mentioned it several times, but neither of us, has heard if they are.
