I got it!
At long last, I've got names for 3 more of my computers. As many may know, I've named (officially) my main system 'Zeus' and the office system 'Hera' The old t22 laptop is "pegasus"
But what to name the storage server, the FTP daemon, or the netbook computer? The netbook is easy of course 'Equus' or 'little horse' :)
But it took some serious research to get the storage server name. I couldn't remember for the life of me, any god or goddess dealing with storage. But try 'Knowledge' ahhhhhh...there's the rub!
It was a choice between Athena, Saraswati, or Metis. Metis, and Saraswati was close, Athena no. This server has nothing to do with war. Metis was a Titan. But Sarawati also is the goddess of art. Sold!!
The FTP daemon was equally easy. What better name for a computer designed to distributed files, than the messenger of the gods, Mercury/Hermes?
So - you may ask, what is the reason for naming your computer?
Somewhat is silliness. But also in networking when you have different computers, they have to have unique names to differentiate between them. I wanted to be special and unique, and the gods/goddess thing was an easy choice. Might have problems in the future though, but I'll worry about that when it comes time for such.
