I spent the weekend in Manchester visiting Nelly, who took me to museums, canals, the cinema (we saw the Spiderwick Chronicles which was very good), cooked me a Bulgarian dish and generally was a 5-star host, despite the fact that I managed to break one of her umbrellas in the wind, repeatedly. It was fun.

Nikki left yesterday :( never to be seen again... probably.. unless I decide to go to California for a holiday one year, or she decides to re-visit the UK. And Luke, my other exchange student friend, is leaving our shores for Australia on Tuesday. Ok that was embarrassing.. I was standing outside the dining hall talking to Luke and Nikki (in the cold as usual) when Nikki restrained me by the wrist to prevent me from leaving. So, an hour of failed escape attempts later she passes my watch to Luke who runs off with it. I gave chase but was yet again foiled by Nikki's reflexes and strength. ( Read more... )
