Title: As We Know It: Four Aspects Author: woodra Rating: MUR [Morons Unallowed to Read] Disclaimer: Mine, all mine. Author Notes: Meta-narratives must die.
I think that if I had read these without knowing you had written them beforehand, I'd either know that it was you afterwards or would be strongly reminded of you. Something about them, beyond the actual style, just screams you to me.
I really liked the first one. Something about a guy in a pink cap with ear flaps assassinating someone amused me. Maybe it was just the color pink.
And I have a question :) Did something inspire you to write these or was it one of those things where you just sit down and start writing and this is what ending up coming out?
Definitely. It can only get better from here, right? As long as you keep working on it, which I have no doubt that you will. But yes :) I like your style and what you write. It makes me stop and think.
Hah, you have a hat like that? XD Fantastic. *laughs* In high school, I took a bunch of advanced English classes which totally warped the way I read and analyze writing now. Even now, almost two years since I've graduated, I still overanalyze and hone into little details like color. Pink has always reminded me of innocence and childhood and femininity, so picturing a man wearing a pink hat stabbing someone was amusingly ironic. ;)
I see! Even though it was short and succienct, it had it's own flow. And ow, hangnails are no fun, but I totally can see where that came from. I hope you didn't decided to cut your thumb off, however XD.
Amazing. If I haven't said it enough, I'll keep saying it. I absolutely adore your writing style. You somehow find a way to make everything so visual, yet so realistic at the same time.
Perhaps that's another reason that I keep talking to you, as you asked before, even when you're not particularly nice to me sometimes. I admire what you can create, and that pulls me in. I see you reaching perfection, and I think that if I pay close enough attention, I may be able to form some minute possibility of me reaching the same point. If that made any sense whatsoever? I have been giving the question you asked me before quite a bit of thought!
Much thankses go your way. Glad you liked it - I have a special liking for this one too, although I do realize it has a few flaws here and there. Or maybe it doesn't. I'm not sure about it anymore. I initially wanted to write twelve episodes but I was so tired I had to reduce it to four
( ... )
One thing that I've come to learn to accept is that with every bit of writing, flaws are visible to some people no matter what one does to change it. Sometimes, that's just the perfection of it. People might attach themselves to the writing because of the flaws that they notice, which in sense makes the writing more humane. If that makes sense!
Heh, I'm aware that it's almost impossible to repeat what others do. But one can always learn from what others do, and take from what they do a perspective of their own. It might not always be a "life lesson", per se, just something that someone might have noticed and developed their own theories on. Each little thing that's done has a point and a meaning to it. What's the point of ignoring everything else that everyone else does, even if you know that you can't repeat what they do? It's something like the butterfly effect, really, which I just find to be so fascinating. One little thing that seems so unnoticeable can make such a big impact on someone's life.
I've noticed that you like to write about people, or, alternatively If you don't actually "like" it, you do seem to do that often. I suppose it's rare that I don't write about people either. I'm actually not sure what the point of this comment is/was. I guess I just noticed stuff and decided to say it.
But it's interesting you noticed that. I can see what you mean, actually, looking back at all the things I've posted here. It's really strange though, usually the things that inspire me to write aren't people, but my environment, or a special note taken by a special singer in a special song, or even just a random amalgamation of words that flare up in my mind as I lay dozing, but never people. But I know that writing about these things that inspire me directly wouldn't come out the way I want them to, wouldn't have the same effect, and I've found that through employing the presence of people, it is made powerful and indirect, which makes it even more powerful. If I'm making any sense at all here >.>
"Inconsequential" left such an impression on me, especially the starkness of the last sentence. The simplicity and quickness which passes as you read does... *something*
I can always trust to have you grasp the very ESSENCE of what I've done! "Inconsequential" is my favourite one, it is the highest point of the whole thing - I simply adore it. >.> And I suppose it doesn't make me too pretentious to be madly in love with my own stuff, right? But yes, it was intended to be so, stark and quick and inconsequential - like most of our life is. It was a sort of a rebel of mine against all fiction, where everything just sort of luckily clicks and you have a story. But in real life, the things that click - they are so very rare! Gods, I just want to tackle you right now and shower with orchids for getting it! ::showers you with orchids even if only in her imagination::
*is better than everyone else* you push my ego oh-so high. Ah, your stuff is worthy of adoration so you're not being pretentious by being madly in love with it.
