It is the Scent of Garlic that Lingers on my Chocolate Fingers

Crazy mixed-up day. It never ceases to amaze how days can contain so much strangeness. A few highlights in rough chronological order.
  • Texted with canton_everhard about life and music and time.
  • Just about everyone was in Customer Service today. Since there was very little to do for awhile and we hadn't all been there in awhile, it got a little silly.
  • Talked with canton_everhard on my break. Yea!
  • Crazy Discount Lady came back wanting discounts on more stuff she was buying. I wandered off so I wouldn't have to deal with her, but I did return a few cards she bought later. Bitch. EDIT: dhedgehog has described it here.
  • Forgot my lunch, so I sat outside for a bit and then went in and read.
  • As the day wore on, it got busier. Which meant fewer shenanigans. I also twisted my leg and had to go sit down for a while. I was waiting to take my final break, but did it sooner because of that.
  • It had rained, and was continuing to rain as I walked to the car. I suddenly discovered I had a hole in the bottom of my shoe.
  • Texted with canton_everhard again and then spoke with her for another 15 minutes when I got home.
  • Went to Taco Bell for dinner where I did not overeat nor have Mt. Dew Baja Blast.
  • Went to Target intending to pick up the Sherlock Holmes dvd. Ran into my exlaws instead. It's funny. We used to run into them all the time when Becky and I were together. It was almost a running joke. And then not at all since we divorced. Once they came into Borders while Becky and I were in our holding pattern, and another time we walked into a restaurant, I saw them and turned right round and walked out. That was soon after it she decided we were getting divorced. But I hadn't seen them in probably about two years. We had a conversation that lasted ever-so-slightly too long. It wasn't a bad conversation, but it was too long. Nancy never did know when to stop. Also, I called them by their names. When I was their son-in-law I never called them anything. Not their names, not Mom and Dad,  no strange nickname, nothing.
  • I did pick up the Holmes dvd. And Coraline. And an oreo cookie shake from Jack-in-the-Box.
  • Had a match on a dating site from someone I went to high school with. Someone who kinda hurt a friend of mine. Or maybe the other way around. I never did learn what happened. But while she's nice, she's a bag o' crazy. No way!

Seeing Les and Nancy put things into sharp relief. I suddenly saw how far I had come. And how much further I still have to go. I'm pleased with my recent progress, but there's always room for improvement. But now I am so very tired and I have to be up far, far too early for work tomorrow...
