Just Some Thoughts
Its been awhile since I jotted anything down. Its 3:30 a.m. and I cant sleep so I figure, what the heck.
Pres G.W. Bush heads my list of HUMBUGS currently. When I was little I was taught to finish what I started before going on to something new. It didn't matter if it was eating dinner, doing chores or doing homework. Finishing one task is a basic principle in life. So why is Pres Bush suddenly flexing his rather then and spread out military to hassle Iran? Iran has had a nuclear program for quite sometime. Everybody knows it. So why now?? Bush seems to be interested in poking our nose into North Korea as well. Our military is spread so thin currently we are not able to respond to a real crisis. We have National Guard troops deployed out at the highest level ever.
Now maybe this is the wrong way to think about things, but it has worked for the whole of the cold war. Pull back our military, buff up some of the existing bases in Germany and England and then tell Iran, and North Korea as well, if they do something stupid like sell dirty bombs to terrorists we will wipe their country off the face of the earth. When we are in a normal posture we have a very impressive quick reaction capability. We does our current leadership want to keep stepping on toes? I don’t get it. Even the school bully doesn’t pick on so many kids that they get angry, band together and kick his buttox. If we keep poking other countries in the nose, eventually they are going to hit back.

On a similar note. Joel is working in the detention center in Kirkut. Its rather boring. But after spending the last three months running convoys and conducting scouting missions into aggressive strongholds, it’s a welcome change of pace. My sister-in-law has so far avoided being blown up. However, the couple of incidents happened mere seconds after she left the area hit. We are still losing American soldiers on Iraq, and to what end? The Iraqi people aren’t getting involved in stopping the Muslim fanatics, and the fanatics are going to keep blowing us, and their own people, up. What kind of supposed patriot targets his own people? We need to just come home and let Iraq sort it out.
Now this isn’t really a HUMBUG, but I want to point something out. The following is an AP wire clip…
“LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (AP) -- A train slammed into an ambulance that apparently tried to get out of its path, but stopped at a rail crossing, killing all three paramedics on board. The patient in the vehicle survived, officials said.”
It is important to note that trains don’t hit vehicles. Vehicles who do stupid things like go around a crossing gate cause trains to hit them. What was the driver of this ambulance thinking anyway? “Gee guys, I thought the train would yield to our lights and siren.” Geez!
