War is good,
When diplomacy has failed and a country is attacked war can be good.
Good for; defending your families, your lands, your culture and your ideology. It is good for preventing someone else imposing their authority over you, murdering your people because of the the way they speak or think. It is also a good way to stop an invader from stealing all your resources. War is like chemotherapy, a painful medicine but sometimes free people must suffer it to remain healthy for the long term future. Some people, maybe many people, will suffer and die. They do that so their children don't suffer and die tomorrow.
Russia is currently attempting to force a hole through UA defences in the east without any success. They do not have sufficient resources to mount a full scale offensive. Ukraine is managing the Russian forces by holding their ground and forcing them to use their dwindling stocks. While Ukraine do this they prepare for the Spring offensive to take back more of their occupied lands.
No one in Ukraine wanted war, no one in Ukraine started a war, but Ukraine will finish this war.
There is one simple way for this war to end quickly. Russian troops all go home to Russia. Endex!

The democracy and power that the USA hopes to retain in the 21st Century depends on the situation in Ukraine. Any withdrawal of support by the USA and any victory for Russia will show the weakness and lack of resolve of a once mighty world power. In such circumstances China will become the new leading world power, dominating Russia, taking Taiwan and challenging the USA to defend it. Japan will be isolated. Syria will challenge Israel and North Korea will be emboldened to move south. Africa will become a Chinese trading centre.
Such instability will lead the the continued rise of neo-fascists in the USA who will blame the demise of their empire on journalists, non-white citizens, immigrants and academics.
To maintain world order, democratic freedoms and the hegemony of the USA (which is desirable) Russia must be defeated in Ukraine!
