HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA

Jun 15, 2011 23:34

Cut for SPOILERS for tonight's Bruins/Canucks game:

I don't even watch hockey, or give a damn most of the time, but OH CANUCKS I'M SO SAD.

From Vancouver Sun:
VANCOUVER - A fairytale season that seemed almost destined to culminate with the franchise's first Stanley Cup has instead ended in profound disappointment for the Vancouver Canucks.

The Boston Bruins spoiled a Stanley Cup party that had been 41 years in the making, beating the Canucks 4-0 in the seventh and deciding game of a roller-coaster series and disappointing tens of thousands of fans who had jammed the streets of downtown Vancouver on Wednesday night. [...]

Boston outscored Vancouver 23-8 in a series where the home team had won every game until Wednesday night.

To all my Vancouver friends, I'm very, very sorry. What a disappointment. *hugs*

I also really, really hope your streets stay safe tonight and that the disappointed Canucks fans leaving the game don't create too much chaos. (No rioting! Rioting bad!)

ETA: Damn. They're setting cars on fire.
