Smallville Season 4, again.

Wow, I'd forgotten how annoying Smallville can be with their Don't Show, Tell! approach to character development. Lana is strong! And uncompromising! You know this because they keep telling you over and over! *gags* Jonathan Kent is so frickin' annoying. Thankfully, Martha continues to be way more awesome than her corn-fed, platitude-spouting ( Read more... )

With Lois? Yeah, she's a bit stiff and paint-by-numbers in a couple of places, possibly the actress getting comfortable with the role, but look at how she moves, how she feels. Look at her doing stuff in a practical, no-nonsense way, trying to get justice for Chloe, annoying people and speaking her mind, having a sense of humour. She doesn't make a big production out of her life or her priorities, but she's passionate and messy and fun.

This is why I love Lois so much. Sure sometimes the writers fall down on the job but they are surprisingly consistent with her.

I really, really enjoy Lois! And I especially enjoy Clark with Lois. Honestly, SV is not my kind of show--the plots and some of the dialogue are too OTT for my tastes--but I'm trying to catch up on later seasons because people keep telling me there's awesome Clark/Lois stuff. Glad to hear they're consistent with Lois' characterisation! :D

I've seen some negative comments about Lois, which I don't understand. If other people find Lana's character or her journey interesting, I can respect that even if I'm not a fan, but I honestly don't get people who think Lois is badly written or badly acted. She's awesome!!

Or at least the characters telling us that she's perfect and apologizing to her for whatever.Yes, that's it exactly. She warps the fabric of reality and hypnotises everyone into marvelling at her perfection, which is a bit... O.o ( ... )
