You know how to play this game: Give me three characters. I have to choose which one to shag, marry, or throw off a cliff.
Or comment below, and I'll give you three characters (from your fandoms) that you have to choose to shag, marry or throw off a cliff!
ETA: An icon meme that I owe
tafkarfanfic.
1. Reply to this post and ask to play, and I will pick six of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee. Whoo!
Oddly, Tafkar did not pick a single Stargate icon, even though that's the fandom we have most in common. But I was more than happy to talk about
icons from the Buffyverse and other fandoms :)

by
chrisleeoctaves. One of my very oldest icons, uploaded when I first created my LJ seven years ago! I love using this icon for happy posts, to express amusement and cheerful attitudes :D It's just a very bright, gleeful icon with JAR (J. August Richards) being very, very adorable!
2)
by me! Long story short: I used to read the
Animorphs series; the fourth book,
The Message, involved humpback whales and the theme hope. My favourite TOS movie, Star Trek: The Voyage Home, also involved humpback whales as hope-bringers. Therefore, icon. Another of my oldest icons, re-uploaded.
3)
by me again. I've talked about Nikki Wood before (
she has her own tag), but I'll try to sum up why I felt compelled to make this icon:
To give Nikki a voice. She speaks in first person. Tells you her name, who she is, what her mission was, who killed her, what happened to her son as a consequence. To bring a different perspective to the story of Spike "dancing" with the Slayers he's killed. Spike is a notoriously unreliable narrator, and my icon makes it clear that this is also canon. That Nikki was her own person, not just a notch in his belt. That she was a Slayer and a mother and a big damn hero, and Spike only knew her in as much as he projected himself onto her.
And because it's Nikki's fucking coat.

liviapenn. I didn't have a *facepalm* icon for the longest time (I just got a Vala *headdesk* icon on DW), but I use Wonder Woman bouncing off the pavement to express LOL OH DEAR and other amused feelings :) I like how she's all flailing limbs and painful landing, mostly because WW is usually so poised and dignified--it's fun/funny to see her when she's off her game!

eierkopf. I loved the V for Vendetta movie. I loved the crowd in robes and wearing Guy Fawkes masks. And yeah,
lim's Us has reinforced that love. This icon says so many things about defining and obscuring identity, about how we see ourselves, who we are, what we do in fandom, in "real life". Our actions, our message, our story.

wickedground. I never used to understand threesomes. I still have difficulty understanding poly relationships in RL, but Eliot/Parker/Hardison has helped me to embrace the OT3 (paving the way for Peter/Elizabeth/Neal). Where before I pinged hard on the dynamics of couples, usually m/m but some m/f, when I watch Leverage, it's all about the interaction between Eliot the gruff and protective big brother, Parker the wacky and badly socialised little sister, and Hardison the sweet, goofy little brother. For me, Hardison is the lynch-pin of the relationship, the way Peter is on White Collar, because Eliot/Parker on their own has all kinds of ookiness. I'm not sure Eliot would ever see Parker that way if Hardison wasn't in the mix.
Okay, now it's your turn to play! Comment, and I'll pick six of your icons!
ION, I really like this pastoral candidate. His sermon this morning was unfortunately not very dynamic--it was difficult to follow, and the general congregation didn't seem impressed. His accent also made it difficult for people to understand him. However, quite a few of us who had the chance to speak to him in a more intimate setting on Friday and Saturday found him very personable. He has a passion for English ministry, and gave a really good answer on a question that's been plaguing many Chinese churches, which is, "How do we win people back from other churches?" His answer: "Why do we need to win them back? If they are flourishing in other churches, there is no concern for they are in the kingdom. Our focus should be on those we need to outreach to, who have fallen away or never knew God in the first place."
(Is it strange that I talk about shagging in the same post as my church's search for a new shepherd?)
