The newer women on the show have only one failing, as far as I can tell: Megan's character used up the shows allotment of awesome before they got there.

YES. They are so mature and comfortable and sweet. And I couldn't have ever imagined I'd think of Peter MacNicols and sex in the same sentence, but Megan made him kind of sexy! She was playful and understated and just a classy, classy lady.

E, I know you do a lot of military research as part of your fic writing. I don't want to join a beta comm just to ask this question, so I was hoping you would, or maybe you know or know someone who knows. I need the military slang/jargon term for "status", as in, "what's your status?"/how's the plan going, what stage is it in, etc.

Googling isn't helping because I can't seem to phrase my query right.

Seems like there was a "number slang" for this on the lines of 'your six' or '5 by 5' and the like, but I can't the interwebs to spit anything out.

Not sure how much you know about this stuff, so I'll give you some basics:

Positions are determined by their relation to you. So something dead ahead is at 12 o'clock, something to your right is at 3 o'clock, to your left is 9 o'clock, directly behind you is 6 o'clock. That's why they say things like "watching your six".

If you mean a number slang for sitreps, I don't know anything about that. Sitreps can be numbered for a particular situation--basically each update gets a number (Sitrep 1, Sitrep 2) as time passes to track the operation's progress. Is that what you mean?

Megan is wonderful! I lied when I said she's the only female woobie I've had since Faith (there's Max and Dawn and a couple others) but she's got that same combo of vulnerability and kickass-ness that I love.

Colby is damn hot! He and David and Megan have quickly become my favourites. I really wish there was more David/Colby slash in this fandom, but alas everything's about Don or Charlie. Or Don/Charlie :P

Well, maybe I'll have to write some David/Colby of my own!
