Today I was moved from my "temporary" location (6 months!) to my new "permanent" floor (only my new manager tells me she's moving me 2 desks down tomorrow) and it's definitely... interesting. It's busy, fairly crowded, and on one hand it's good that I'll have my new team around me. Easy access, accountability.
OTOH, I liked being off on my own. I'm an anti-social geek-girl who has suddenly found herself surrounded by effusive gay men and stylish, extroverted women. Not that there's anything wrong with being effusive or extroverted, but wow is it an adjustment to make after years of tech/engineer-focused middle-aged men who'd chat with me about sci-fi television.
But I suppose new things are necessary. If only so my CV doesn't look completely ridiculous. What, I was gonna keep working for the same boss forever and ever? Who knows, I may actually like it here.
In other news, my knee hurts. Not sure what I did -- twisted it, maybe? It's been hurting since Sunday. Uh-oh, maybe it's arthritis! Also, my eyes are tired. Heck, I'm tired even though I went to bed early (11pm is early for me!) last night.
