A different species
I had a promising date this evening. Had. He has now cancelled as Scotland is playing soccer (footie) tonight and he has to meet his friends to watch it. I am interested in what other women would have done in this situation, both in Britain and Canada.
What did I do?
I said thanks, but no thanks and kicked him to the curb. Very disrespectful I thought. If he was that much of a fan, he should have known of the game today and not made plans with me. To cancel on the actual day is very rude. To use it as an excuse and then say 'I forgot' is very immature. Maybe I appear harsh to men, but seriously, he needs to get his priorities in order. At the age of 40, he is single for a reason, and perhaps I have just figured out that reason.
After so many years of dating, I have got to the point of just not putting up with this sort of thing.
